PCIM Europe 2025 Highlights





From May 6 to 8, 2025, the world’s leading power electronics exhibition—PCIM Europe 2025—will take place in Nuremberg, Germany. This year's edition marks a significant expansion, with the number of exhibition halls increasing from four to six. More than 600 exhibitors and 450 technical presentations are expected, offering a comprehensive showcase of the latest technologies and trends in power electronics, intelligent motion, renewable energy, and energy management.




Significant Growth in Scale and International Reach


To date, 606 exhibitors have registered for PCIM Europe 2025, with 61% representing international companies, covering the entire power electronics value chain. Newly added Halls 4 and 4A will feature the latest innovations from industry leaders such as Toshiba, Renesas, and Novosense.

In addition, more than 160 new exhibitors from 20 countries—including Italy, Japan, and France—will make their debut at the event. Notable companies such as SPEA, ASYS Group, Parmi, Augsburg Diamond Foundry, and GE Aviation Systems will further enhance the exhibition’s global diversity and breadth.



Technical Presentations Spotlight Sustainability and Cutting-Edge Innovations


Over 450 newly released academic and industry presentations will be featured at PCIM Europe 2025, addressing topics such as sustainability, wide bandgap semiconductor applications, and AI-powered data center power solutions.Daily keynote sessions will be delivered by leading experts, including:

Dushan Boroyevich (CPES): “Modularization of Medium-Voltage Power Electronics for Future Electronic Energy Networks”

Michael Harrison (Enphase Energy): “Monolithic Bidirectional Switch (BDS) GaN HEMT Technology”

Johann Walter Kolar (ETH Zurich): “The Challenge of Green Growth – Limited Energy Return on Investment and Critical Raw Material Shortages”

A panel discussion on the circular economy in power electronics will also be held, focusing on sustainability and resource efficiency.



Industry Leaders Showcase Innovative Technologies


Infineon Technologies
Infineon will showcase its latest products in silicon (Si), silicon carbide (SiC), and gallium nitride (GaN) power devices. Applications span AI data center power, robotics, solar systems, and onboard chargers (OBC). Highlights include the next-generation CoolSiC™ JFET technology, CoolSET™ integrated power solutions, CoolGaN™ transistor technology, and the CoolMOS™ 8 and OptiMOS™ 8 series.

Bosch
Bosch will spotlight its latest trench SiC MOSFETs, including dual-channel devices for 1200V and 750V applications, along with efficient SiC-based power modules and isolated high-voltage gate drivers. Bosch experts will also present on topics such as "Angle-synchronous PWM for Enhanced E-Drive Performance" and "Unipolar and Bipolar Test Voltages in Conventional Partial Discharge Measurement Setups."

AKM (Asahi Kasei Microdevices)
(Hall 7, Booth 502)
AKM will present its latest current sensing solutions, including the CZ39 series for automotive OBC/DCDC applications, the CQ36 series coreless current sensor ICs with Delta-Sigma digital output, and coreless sensors for traction inverters. AKM will also introduce an eFuse system co-developed with Silicon Austria Labs (SAL), designed to enhance safety and reduce system costs.

imec
imec will feature its GaN technology platform, offering multi-project wafer (MPW) services, licensing, and technology transfer for 40V, 100V, and 650V GaN-ICs, aimed at accelerating GaN adoption in power electronics applications.



Special Zones and Event Highlights


● E-Mobility Area: A dedicated zone showcasing technologies for electric vehicles, charging infrastructure, and battery management systems—highlighting the rapid progress of power electronics in sustainable mobility.

● High-Quality Lectures and Forums: Around 300 presentations and poster sessions will be held, covering the latest research findings and technology applications, fostering interaction between academia and industry.
